Within the scope of the “Gastroantep Cultural Road Festival,” organized in cooperation with the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the “Local Chef International Culinary Competition – University Category” will be held at the festival grounds on October 9-11, 2026. To form the team that will represent our university, a selection will be made exclusively from among the 3rd-year students of our department.
Competition Team Structure and Role Distribution
The competition team will consist of a total of 4 primary and 2 alternate students. The selected alternate members will take on support duties during all technical demos throughout the preparation process; in the event of force majeure where primary members cannot participate, they will be included in the team on the day of the competition.
Application and Participation Requirements
Candidates applying for the competition must have professional kitchen experience and possess the necessary level of foreign language proficiency, taking international jury evaluations into consideration. In addition, it is mandatory for the selected students to be present in Gaziantep as of September 21 and to fully attend the 3 technical preparation demos to be held within the university.
Facilities Provided by the University
Within the scope of the competition, transportation expenses, required technical equipment, and preparation process demos will be covered by our university.
Application Process
Candidates must prepare a letter of intent outlining their motivation for participating in the competition and their professional goals, and submit it to aleyna.mutlu@hku.edu.tr no later than the end of the business day on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Following the evaluation of the applications, the selected students will be announced by our department.
