Our Vision
As the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Faculty of Tourism, Hasan Kalyoncu University, our vision is to be a world-class department that leads gastronomy education with an education approach that continuously renews itself, with an academic staff that possesses the qualifications required by today’s teaching and education activities, is expert in its field and continuously develops itself.
Our Mission
The Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Faculty of Tourism, Hasan Kalyoncu University aims to train individuals who are aware of the relationships between gastronomy and culinary arts and other scientific disciplines, have innovative and original ideas, have developed the ability to work collaboratively, enjoy studying culinary cultures, can produce in the kitchen with knowledge of food chemistry, can reflect on the concept of nutrition, and can evaluate gastronomy and culinary arts within the scope of tourism. The department also aims to scientifically examine the flavors we possess, to promote this work nationally and internationally on the basis of history, anthropology and sociology, to contribute to training the qualified and sought-after human resources the sector needs, and to raise individuals who can interpret our regional culinary culture in line with the requirements of the age, remain faithful to its essence and pass it on to future generations.
