Hasan Kalyoncu University Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Awarded “Barrier-Free University” Emblem by YÖK
The application submitted by Hasan Kalyoncu University’s Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, within the framework of its barrier-free education vision, has been successfully concluded. The department has been awarded the “Barrier-Free University Program Emblem” in the “Visually Impaired” category by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Our department has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first gastronomy program in Turkey to receive this prestigious emblem.
In this process, our kitchen infrastructure was fully modernized in accordance with accessibility standards to enable our visually impaired students to conduct practical work independently, safely, and effectively. These arrangements are directly aligned with Goal 4 (Quality Education) of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on equal opportunity and inclusivity in education. By combining gastronomy education with universal design principles, our department has solidified its commitment to providing a sustainable and equitable learning experience for all students through this national success.
